The red carpet has been rolled out and today, Friday March 10th, "El Festival de Málaga" opens for the 26th time with more feature films than ever before! A total of 39 pieces and a total range of 232 films, including documentaries and short films, which is a historical record. This year's Spanish film festival also coincides with the Oscars held on Sunday night. There the Spanish-speaking film "Argentina 1985" directed by Santiago Mitre, is nominated for Best international film.
The official section includes 22 films, 20 of which are included in the competition (12 Spanish and 8 Latin American). The film festival is mainly held at Teatro Cervantes, Teatro Echegaray and Cine Albéniz in the center of Málaga.
The film festival lasts until March 19 and means that the whole city offers a festive atmosphere and a lot of film-related activities, in addition to film screenings and star shine that brightens the city's streets for a bit over a week.
